I want to draw and think like Picasso. It is hard to get out of my comfort way of thinking.

sketchbook project

I am working on my sketchbook project.  :)
When I draw with just a black pen, my creativity goes beyond my imagination.
Sometimes, I get surprised by what i drew on my paper.
What I mean is.. I draw things I never imagined in my head.

Sometimes, I look at my drawing and say... "  what is this ?"
It is like finding my creative bug inside of me.

 

I went to a cafe in Fillmore and worked on sketch book project.
I like drawing sketch book with just black pen because I can't  erase what I drew... Sometime, if I think too much, I realized that I am not free any more.
Just following my instinct and being  truthful is important to me.
Btw, the onion soup was yummy. I am going to try bigger size next time. :)

cut out portfolio book // illustration day in Fort Mason

I made a portfolio book last night. I came up with "cut out style " and it worked out.
 I would like to make more of this cut out style and it will be fun.
I have received  great comments from   SCBWI illustration day meeting in SF.
I appreciate for everyone who gave me  great critics and it was nice to meet everyone.

After the meeting, I went to RNG lounge restaurant in China town with friends.  It was so Delicious!

I am not 100 % satisfied with my pictures of tree boy. It is a learning process. Hopefully, I can keep developing these characters and style. I am ready for SCBWI Illustration day in San Francisco this weekend. I would love to get critics about them. :)

I designed a post card last night .
pink, green and sky blue colors prints are  on white back ground.
I slept only 4hours last night. ha ha.

I am working on a story of twin sisters, truth and lie.
Originally it was black and white . however, I wanted to try with colors.
I want to work with text and pictures together. I want to learn more about typography.

This is my favourite mezzo-tint prints from my old printmaking class. 

I want to try mezzo-tint again. It looks so soft and different.
However, it is another time consuming medium, though.

Guitarlist, Lee Byung Woo was inspired by the mushroom boy in a Japanese animation "Paul's Wonderland ".  I used to watch "Paul's Wonderland" when I was a little girl. ( I remember when time freezes before they go to wonderland. And, I liked a wonderland that everything was made by papers like an origami world.)

Lee was wondering what the mushroom boy  might dream while he is sleeping.   How lovely this is.

the boy who was born in asphalt street

I walk every morning for an hour .
I brought  a camera and took this picture. This tiny little plant is so cute and looks lonely.
I am making a story about this little boy who is born in asphalt street.
