Illustrating Children's Books Class

I am taking Illustrating Children's Books Class taught by Ms. Kristine Brogno.

I feel so lucky to learn from her. I highly recomend this class.

Truth and Lie

I know a boy always do V with his fingers and a girl who likes to show her missing baby tooth.  They make me happy.

on the way to school

I like the little fox eating her lunch ( an acorn) on the way to  school.

I used to walk to my elementary school for 30minutes. Korea is pretty safe for kids to walk.

I remember seeing dragon flies and cosmos flowers on the way. The memories are so vivid, and I feel like I can  still feel air and lights when I was 7. 

I also remember seeing shocking things like my little boy friend peeing on the street and dogs matting...

(Yeh, back then, dogs were free to go out by themselves and come back home for dinner. how nice! )

cut out portfolio book // illustration day in Fort Mason

I made a portfolio book last night. I came up with "cut out style " and it worked out.
 I would like to make more of this cut out style and it will be fun.
I have received  great comments from   SCBWI illustration day meeting in SF.
I appreciate for everyone who gave me  great critics and it was nice to meet everyone.

I should add 5-7 more pictures of this style to  my portfolio.

And,   I want to keep working on it! I want to make new 3-4 pictures every month.

After the meeting, I went to RNG lounge restaurant in China town with friends.  It was so Delicious!

I am not 100 % satisfied with my pictures of tree boy. It is a learning process. Hopefully, I can keep developing these characters and style. I am ready for SCBWI Illustration day in San Francisco this weekend. I would love to get critics about them. :)

I designed a post card last night .
pink, green and sky blue colors prints are  on white back ground.
I slept only 4hours last night. ha ha.

I am working on a story of twin sisters, truth and lie.
Originally it was black and white . however, I wanted to try with colors.
I want to work with text and pictures together. I want to learn more about typography.
