this is so cute.  if my characters talk, I imagine they sound and move like Marcel, the shell.
Also , this is smartly done with still  photo images and the simple character.

tree man

It took me 3-4 days to draw this.
It is an experimental project. I am enjoying this vector drawing. ( yes, it is 2MB vector) .
I like it looks like wood cut printing.

Now , I have to come up with a story for him.

elephant with IPAD

This one took about an hour to paint with my finergs on IPAD.
I enjoy drawing with IPAD ( Sketch PRO app).

elephant

I edited IPAD(sketch pro app) drawing in Photoshop with Wacom tablet.
I changed the colors and added some details.
It took about 2hours to edit and I enjoyed the process.

IPAD is casual and fast, easy to paint  .
However , the image size from ipad (72dpi screen size) is small for printing.
I wonder if I can change image size bigger in Sketch Pro app.

I can also reproduce this in bigger size in Photoshop.
But, I am not sure I will enjoy repeating  painting... ha ha.
I like my green  elephant.

I copied Paul Klee's (top) drawing by myself(bottom) to study his
style.  His  drawing has rythms like music.

This Klee's work looks like a music note to me.
I wanted to see what happens if I erase all vertical wavy lines.
Two characters and goats are taking a walk. even the tress are walking with them.

His drawing is taking a walk, too !  :)

BO JA GI( Korean Traditional Textile)

Paul Klee - Castle and Sun

I love BO JA GI( Korean Traditional Textile) . It reminds of me Paul Klee's work.
I would love to work with Traditional Korean Bojagi patterns/arts .

Katsumi Komagata

A la découverte de Katsumi Komagata from Médiathèque CCRY on Vimeo.

I love how the trees in  the book move by the wind  and casted by shadows ( painted on paper and real one ). Just movement of the hand of  flipping pages  is also beautiful to me.
It  is a perfect performance , installation and story!
I love the texts even though I can't read them from this movie.
I would like to make a book animation !
I could be a new category of animation .

Park Kyung-ni

Park Kyung-ni (October 28, 1926 – May 5, 2008) was a prominent Korean novelist.

I watched a documentary about her. I remeber reading her novel, Toji( Land). It took her 25 years to write.
I rented  the "Toji" books from a Korean Library when I was in school summer vacation.
While I was reading the books, I  was able to smell  characters in the story and feel the temperature of the town.
I stopped reading the book because I couldn't stand violence of hard time . ( Korea was Japan’s colony at that time. )
I want to try again sometime...
